Review: Grab Green Automatic Dishwasher Detergent

IMG_20180505_163052

I have been using another brand of environmentally friendly automatic dishwasher detergent for years and was fairly happy with it.  But recently I decided to try something different just to see what is out there in the environmentally responsible world.

I tried Grab Green fragrance free dishwasher detergent pods.  As you can see in the BlurryCam picture, above, the pods come in a big resealable pouch which saves on shipping weight.  I chose the fragrance free because none of the scent options sounded any good.

Few eco friendly products can match consumer brands like Cascade for raw cleaning power, but I might have found something close.  I do know that Grab Green cleans better than my previous brand of auto dishwasher detergent.

The Inadvertent Test

I have a 22 oz. stainless steel tumbler that I use for coffee and tea all day long.  It rarely ever makes it into the dishwasher with the rest of the dishes because it is in use.  It gets a nasty buildup of stains in the bottom over time.  My old detergent barely made a dent in these stains.

It had been a long time since that tumbler had been washed and the stains where terrible so I threw it in the dishwasher with Grab Green.  When it came out the stains were half gone – way better than my old detergent.  The next day I threw it in again.  This time the tumbler came out looking brand new!  Not a stain to be seen anywhere on it – just shining stainless steel.  This stuff is good.

I’ve only been using Grab Green for two weeks, I will post an update after long term testing.  My water is neither overly hard nor soft.  I see no film on dishes or flatware nor any etching.  I do not use a rinse agent.

Bottom Line

This product is recommended. Give it a try.  I got it through Amazon, I have never seen it in my local stores.
